So i've been very active the past week and a half and I got motivated when I found out my jeans were a lot tighter oops! A weekend ago we went on a saturday to climb 'Rainbow Mountain'. It was a quite tiring trip uphill but the view was absolutely breathtaking. It looked like a fairytale seeing all the green hills on one side and the lakes on the other side. The story of the Maori's goes (something like this) that they fished up the Souther Island and a fish and they wanted to kill the fish so they slammed it a few times on the ground and that's how the norther island was created with lots of hills. After taking too many photo's we went down. It all took around 2 hours to get up and down. It was a hot day so we had a little picnic at the bottom hmm! It was quite early so we thought why don't we go for a swim. We drove to a thermal river which was well hidden behind long small meandering roads. We changed into our togs (new zealandish word for bathing suit) and walked a little bit through the forest and there was this long river with a mini waterfall and the water was so warm!! And luckily no animals :) If you put your feet in the sand you'd feel the warmth of the ground and in some parts it was too hot to stick your feet in! The day after we went mountainbiking which started out good until i fell in a wet muddy pool bleh!

This weekend on saturday we went mountainbiking again and i survived the part where i fell the last time but of course i found another part to fall. I now have these huuuuge purple bruises on my legs. I think i'll never have legs without bruises!!! After that we Hannah had another ball so we were kind of preparing for that. In the evening Maria and I went babysitting somewhere close and for only 4 hours you get payed 50 dollars!!! You can really see the difference here in what people get payed woah. Sunday I thought why not try something new? So i went with my host mum to the Red Woods for a run! I was scared because i never run and i'm as unfit as a potato but that's why i'm here, to try new things! We started running in the woods and slowly going up the mountain. It's incredible to run but see this amazing huge forest around you and there's too much fresh air and it's so green and just incredible! I ended up being quite good and apparently i run instead of jog haha! Thank you legs. We did a 40 minute run and went back home. We decided to go to the hot pools in Waikitei. Driving past with the car you saw huge white steams of the hot water combined with cold air. We went to the 'colder' pool first which was a nice warm temperature but then we moved to the hotter one and it was hotter than a spa (NZ'ish for jacuzzi) so after 10 minutes i had had enough! All these places are in the middle of hills so very deserted from town. There's no light so quite scary at night. It's completely silent which is very cool though.

Yesterday Maria and I were invited to another rotary meeting because it was 'international week'. We had dinner and gave a presentation about our own countries. This was the second time i have given my presentation and both times people enjoyed it and they always ask 'So do you speak English in Holland?'

Today Maria and I thought of keeping fit so after school we went for a run (it didn't feel natural..), We ran down the main road which is slowly down hill but steep at the beginning. The way down was all fine but the way up pfeeeew I thought i was dying!!! Eventually we ran for around 20 minutes and did a bit of weights and boxing at home. Maybe we'll do it again tomorrow if we're alive by then....

    Mummin:
